In 1958, Moderna Museet (the Museum of modern art) was opened on the island Skeppsholmen in Central Stockholm. Nowadays, it has one of the best and full collections of paintings and sculptures of the XXth century. The Spanish architect Rafael Moneo Valles developed the project, which from 1994 to 1998, reconstructed the building of the Museum.
